BUS 110: Overcoming Challenges

This week we studied about overcoming challenges is our field of business. While studying and thinking about this topic I found that the two biggest problems that I have with people would also most likely apply to the business as well.

After thinking about that I got to thinking about just how much our personal and professional lives tend to interact with each other. Many people are proud to announce just how much they can keep their two separate lives working and not have them affect each other. Everybody says "I drop my personnel life at the door when I get too work" or "when I get home from work my don't let my work interfer with me home life".

In theory this is easy to do. When you get right down to it they both have an impact on the other. You cannot keep them completely separated and still function on an effective level. In practice of you are having trouble at home you will begin to slip at work as the troubles will distract you.

We as people are built and programmed to be able to multy task, but that is almost exclusively limited to small easily accomplished items. When we are being pulled in two directions by both work and home life's we begin to have problems keeping them apart.

Being busy at work will cause to forget about things you need to do at home. Stressful situations at home will cause a loss of focus at work.

I believe that instead of forcing the two apart we should be using each part of our lives to inform the others. Finding a true Ballance would serve us best.

BUS 110 Week #7: Moving Forward with a Driving Passion

This week in my BUS 110 course we learned about driving forward in life. We learned that maybe you should focus on finding a passion in life and use that to drive yourself forward. Doing this will allow you to better find your joy in life as well as make a difference in the world.

You may not make a ton of money through your passion but you will be happy and change some aspect of the world. It may not always be a big change to the whole world, but it will be big to your cornor of it. Sometimes the best thing we can do to help people and the world is to focus on making some sort of change in our own little part of it.

Of every body chose to try andake small positive changes around thaelves they could leed to changes and adjustments in the larger world around us. Smalls act of joy and friendship add up and bring more positive energy into the world.

When you allow your joy into your life and then start to drive forward according to what brings you joy you will be on the leading edge of a wave of changes that will carry you through life.

As a TikToker that I follow says "Find Your Joy"

BUS 110: So You Want to be an Entrepreneur

This week has been an interesting week. I learned that while I am working on one class it can have an effect on the other classes that I am taking.

In my BUS 180: The Cycle of Cash we learned about a balance sheet and how to they work. While I was working on the practice sheets for this class I found myself applying some of ideas that I have gotten from this class. I began to look at each of the different section of the P&L and Balance Sheets as ways to improve my level of desire for an education and drive to gain a new level toward mastery of my chosen degree program. Each of the different sections feeds information to the next and those beyond it. Then at the end you input the totals back into the first section and see if it all balances. If you come out with a zero then you have correctly completed the work.

This can be applied to yourself as you learn and grow into mastery by showing you that as your past actions and attempts to grow either have changed you as you performed each task. This brings balance to you and your career as you continue through your process of growth.

In my GS 170: Career Development course we once again submitted our resume to the VMock system to see how well it would perform. We also completed either mock interviews or real interviews.

The VMock score of my resume showed me that just I am an ever changing person so to should my resume be. This should be a living document and inorder for it to be so I should be adding the new features that I am learning and removing some old ones that do not function anyore.

The interview section of this course helped me to learn where I can improve my people and communication skills.

These two things can directly affect my ability to be successful as an Entrepreneur as a large part of it is communication and the ability to present myself properly.

Now that I am starting to see how each of my courses can affect each other I am looking for to seeing how the combined effort in each will show in my life as a total.

BUS 110: Spreading Happiness

This week was an interesting week for me. We were asked to read a case study on a lady that started her own greeting card business. While reading the case study I began to respect the young woman that was the main focus of the story. She saw something that she wanted to, and that there seemed to be a need for the business. Once she had decided what she wanted to do with her business she began working towards it.

The next thing we were asked to do is develop our own Personal Board of Advisors. This is something that I had not thought about before. We needed to figure out a group of seven people that could and would be able to give us advice throughout our personal and professional lives. We were encouraged to look beyond our families. Even beyond alive or dead. We could choose anybody. This really made me think about which people in my life I would be willing to listen to. The people I chose were amongst the living, and fictional.

This week was supposed to be about spreading happiness, but at one point I had to face the fact that I was becoming overwhelmed and tht I allowed it to affect my relationship with my wife. We got into an argument, and I was forced to admit to myself that I needed to drop an activity that I enjoyed. This activity was fun for me but wad just one thing that I kept having to try to squeeze in. This squeezing was taking the fun out of it for me.

I told my wife that Ibwas just going to drop it and focus more her and making sure she was doing okay. Seeing her happy brings me more joy than that activity does anyways.
