BUS 110: Spreading Happiness

This week was an interesting week for me. We were asked to read a case study on a lady that started her own greeting card business. While reading the case study I began to respect the young woman that was the main focus of the story. She saw something that she wanted to, and that there seemed to be a need for the business. Once she had decided what she wanted to do with her business she began working towards it.

The next thing we were asked to do is develop our own Personal Board of Advisors. This is something that I had not thought about before. We needed to figure out a group of seven people that could and would be able to give us advice throughout our personal and professional lives. We were encouraged to look beyond our families. Even beyond alive or dead. We could choose anybody. This really made me think about which people in my life I would be willing to listen to. The people I chose were amongst the living, and fictional.

This week was supposed to be about spreading happiness, but at one point I had to face the fact that I was becoming overwhelmed and tht I allowed it to affect my relationship with my wife. We got into an argument, and I was forced to admit to myself that I needed to drop an activity that I enjoyed. This activity was fun for me but wad just one thing that I kept having to try to squeeze in. This squeezing was taking the fun out of it for me.

I told my wife that Ibwas just going to drop it and focus more her and making sure she was doing okay. Seeing her happy brings me more joy than that activity does anyways.
